Dr. Parekh provides critical laboratory support to CDC’s global HIV work as part of the PEPFAR in more than 40+ countries. He obtained his Ph.D. from the U.S. followed by his post-doctoral research at Scripps Research Institute, California working on hemorrhagic fever viruses. He has been with CDC since 26 years focusing on HIV diagnosis, quality assurance in resource-limited countries and development of HIV incidence assays. Methods/tools developed in his laboratory are used worldwide. He is author/co-author of >100 publications.
